Tomorrow When The War Began movie is based on the popular book of the same title by Australian author John Marsden. Both the book and the movie are aimed at teens and tell the story of 7 teenage friends who come back from a camping trip in an isolated area to find there town has been taken over by an unknown enemy.

It goes on to tell of the ordeals the group has to go through in order to survive the invasion, with much action and many a twist and turn to the plot.

It could be described as an action/adventure story with large doses of courage and love entwined into the storyline. It has proved a very popular book with its teenage audience, selling over 2 million copies in Australia and New Zealand and the film should prove just as popular.

The screenplay was written by a fellow Aussie Stuart Beattie, who has also written screenplays for the movies “Australia”, “Collateral” and Pirates of the Caribbean; the Curse of the Black Pearl.
There will be some big action sequences in the Tomorrow movie, all captured on 35mm film by cinematographer Ben Knott who has worked on ‘Daybreakers’ and ‘Accidents Happen’

Ambience entertainment, another division of Omnilab Media, will be producing the movie. It will be distributed in Australia by Paramount Pictures.

The cast of Tomorrow When The War Began movie includes a couple of our popular Aussie soapie stars in addition to other accomplished young Australian and overseas actors.

The Tomorrow movie is scheduled to premiere on 8th August 2010 in Sydney; 11th August in Melbourne and 15th August in Queensland.
